Open street maps for Polar V650

Ready for a ride?! Free maps from OpenStreetMap are now available for V650. To get started:

· First update your FlowSync on your computer to the latest version 2.5.4. Then use the new FlowSync to download the 1.2 software to your V650.

· Find the maps behind the device’s general settings where you can define the offline map area. When you have decided the area, press “Download”.

· Connect your V650 to your computer with the USB cable to let FlowSync fetch the desired map to your V650 from Flow service.

· With this update you’ll see your location and the travelled route on a map in your V650. Please note that the route guidance support is not yet available.

The maps can be downloaded for an area of 450 km x 450 km and you can choose the central point of the desired area before downloading the offline map. For the map layers you can choose bike routes or even topographic maps. Topographic maps will be available depending on their regional availability. You can have one map area at a time on your V650 so this means the previous map will be overwritten by the new map when selecting a new offline map area.

Strava (optional) integration with Polar Flow

The wait is over! We are so happy to let you know that we have now finalized the Strava integration with Polar Flow. This means you can now automatically transfer your training sessions to Strava from the Flow web service.

Import your routes

It is possible to import routes from third party platforms (eg from Strava, WIKILOC, etc.) to the Polar Flow web service in GPX or TCX format, up to a maximum size of 25 MB. Once the routes are downloaded to Polar Flow, simply synchronize your device with your computer via FlowSync.

Route guidance for the Polar V650

The new route guidance feature for the Polar V650 guides you along routes that other Flow web service users have recorded and shared or routes you have recorded during your previous sessions.

To get started, update your Polar V650 with FlowSync to version 1.3.2 and make sure you have the maps activated on your V650. How to activate the maps, is explained in this document.

Then, to add a route to your V650, you must first add it to your Favorites list in the Flow web service. After this you can sync the routes to your V650. You can have a maximum of 20 routes at a time in your V650.

When you have the routes synced to your V650, choose the route you want to display behind the new Routes menu.  Then you’re ready to go!

As a new feature, you can follow on the map how many kilometers or miles you have left until you reach your finish point.
